Can Someone Help Me?

Adult,

How does one become so defined, so fixated on a single word? our entire lives we strive to be older so we can do new things, rise to new challenges, but as soon as we get here we realise the horrible truth.

Growing up is not something that should be enjoyed, not entirely anyway, it is exciting to grow up and be mature but at the same time it reveals to us the sad realisation that life will never be the same again.

In order for us to attain the illustrious rank of ‘Adult’, we must face so many different challenges in our own lives, but that being said who does decide when we are grown up?

If I was to ask the law it varies, each country has different regulations and laws that suit its people, which is funny to look at. America, policing the world, the most powerful country in the world, it could be argued. Legal age to join the army 17, legal age to begin driving, 16. With these laws in place, it seems ludicrous that the legal drinking age in America is 21. In Vermont, it is legal to purchase a gun at the age of 16.

I define who I am. That is my opinion. I feel like I am an adult now based upon what I have experienced in my own life.

Pretty deep post.
