Developing ideas
My secondary role was props and costume, something I have done in pervious productions. Since the start of this process I have found it difficult to think of ideas for props and costume. From the start people wanted script writers. This has proven difficult for the writers and they had a lot of pressure on themselves with their dissertation earlier on in the year. We had our first production meeting on the 24th of March and I felt pretty useless because I had no ideas what props and costumes would be needed. As we did not have a script I couldn’t develop ideas for characters (which is no offense to the writers, I know they work extremely hard). In the production meeting I spoke about how we wanted shoes on the stage but as of yet, we did not know how they would be staged. We have been working a lot with chairs so I took in to consideration that chairs would be needed and used throughout. Also we mentioned using a projector which Darren said he could get for us. The production meeting was a good taster of what is going to be happening in the upcoming weeks and gets me excited to see what we will develop and how much further we have gotten when we go into our second production meeting.
